Joel Sheppard, Founder

Joel S. Sheppard (Joe) has been a residential builder in Williamsburg and Hampton Roads for 40+ years. In addition to his Presidency at Joel S. Sheppard Inc., Joe is a partial owner of Customer Builder Supply, and serves on the Board of Directors. Joe has also partnered with local builders to develop the subdivisions of Piney Creek, Setters Mill, and Longhill Woods.

Joe was a charter member of the Peninsula Housing & Builders Association (PHBA) and was a member for many years. He is a current member of the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg. In the past, Joe served on the Board of Directors for several financial institutions and AAA of Tidewater Virginia. Joe was honored to serve on the Building Committee for the Hospice House of Williamsburg. He also served James City County and Williamsburg through participation on various committees. When not on the job site, Joe enjoys playing golf, spending time with his grandchildren, and traveling with his wife Bonnie.

David Evans, Superintendent

After graduating from William and Mary with an accounting degree, Dave pursued a professional career in the Washington DC area. His former employers include Arthur Anderson and the George Hyman Construction Company. Dave returned to the Williamsburg area in 1990 and opened his own remodeling business. In 1995 he then joined Joel S. Sheppard, Inc. and now works closely with Joe on all construction projects. His custom home experience dates back to the beginning of local premier subdivisions including Kingsmill and Fords Colony.
